thats the exact system that i have holding my tailgate up! only problem was that i had something heavy in the back, and it slammed into the tailgate, and the bolt popped out

Make sure that the sliding bolts fit nice and tight. when i don't have my torneau cover on to hold it up, the bolts often slide open, and the tailgate drops down. makes a fair bit of noise and you start to wonder if you ran over the neighbours cat or something

The problem with those latches is they don't hold the sides in, which on a 1200 ute are unsupported except by the tailgate, In my opinion you would be better going to a cantilever type latch, like factory but smaller (similar to what you find on tackle boxes)

thanks phat dat much apreciated,yes im looking forward to that as well ,things are coming along very slowly but they are falling into place nicely,im hoping a can produce a get end result,keep watching ,a few awsum things coming up soon im sure your gona like !!!!
