There is plenty of spark and fuel going to the right places! When fuel put directly into carby, will run like a bag of #### for about 2 seconds then dies and won't fire again! Did this with all 3 carbys!

what happens if you continue to pour fuel down the carby while its running like ####? does it keep running.
Maybe get some aerostart and spray it at the carby while it kicks over then see if the motor will run for longer just on aerostart. Seems like fuel to me.

ps. beware of backfires if you do what I'm suggesting, you could catch on fire

yeah no worries just get a hold of an A15 complete and whack it in your bay at least you will have more power and less worries for the same amount of time spent troubleshooting, pulling your hair out, beating the car with a 12 inch shifter, punching your neighbour for telling you to keep it down, then finally taking to the bastard of a car with your steel cap work boots after it has cost you hundreds of bucks in replacement parts and still no running engine I feel your pain hold in there you will enjoy the car better when it's running and if it hasn't been beaten up in a fit of rage

Thanx blofly! thats probably a good idea.
anyone know of an a14 or a15 in SEQ?
BTW, I heard a while back that if you go bigger than a 1400 in a 1200 it has to be engineered, however if you put a 1400 in, it doesnt.

Check that you timing isn't wildly out - Crank your motor to top dead centre and check that your contact points are just opening and the rotor button is pointing towards #1 cylnder

check around the jap wreckers, classifieds section here on the forum. as far as legal mumbo jumbo is concerned i am not sure, there is very little in ways of identifying an A15 from an A12 or A14 appart from the numbers stamped on the block which can be ground off in 2 minutes.
Here in WA we don't need RWC so I just put the A15 in and left it at that, as far as rego goes it still is an a12 heck I know 2 mates of mates with big hp SR20DET 1600's still regoed as L16's just need to live in somewhere remote enough to go unnoticed and to look at them they don't look like serious dattos, just dirty old brown things stock as a rock on the out side
sorry for rambling on I guess it's up to you whether you choose to have it engineered or not is what I am trying to say

Sounds weird, 3 things make these things go, fuel, spark and compression.

All you have to do now is get them happening in the right order.

I have just put the A15 in my ute and I can highly recommend it! I have some contacts if you need them, PM me.
