The 5-speed is exactly same length as the 4-speed...so you use the *same* shaft!!!

2-piece was only use in long wheelbase utes.

Yea, it is all documented here: Propeller Shafts

i realise that but isnt the ute diff nose longer meaning you need a shorter driveshaft, is it not.
So, im looking for a short wheel base ute shaft then. Cheers guys

I am using a ute diff with the standard two piece driveshaft, behind and A15 and 5 Speed.

You will probably need to to get a car tailshaft shortened Chris. There may be some here, but I am yet to lay eyes on a shortbed 1200 ute here in NZ.

Im not to keen to use the 2 piece ute shaft as the datto will see the track and i have heard that one piece driveshafts are better than 2???
Also wouldnt using a 2 piece shaft mean that it wud need to be bolted at the uni to the body?
im not to keen on that either, not hard just dont wanna

Whaddaya rekon

hey chris, i've got a h165 flange and uni, cut from a ute tailshaft. you can have it for the cost of postage if you want ??
all you'll have to do than is get your wagon one shortened and this end welded on

the shaft goes thruugh that rubber do-nut looking thing with a bearing in it.
the donut sits in a cradle bracket which is bolted to the body
