thanks mate ,it sounds like to me that your paint may be stuft, how many cracks are there???if there are heaps of tiny ones that look like a spider web sort of pattern, thats called crows feet or crazy cracks its basicly the result of the paint work breaking down ,you can sray over it but it will never come up that good, your best to sand it right back and reprime it again, then go from there so your got a good base to work on,

no point spending lots on paint when its just going to turn out bad because of the stuff your painting over ,heres something to keep in mind
spraypainting is 80 percent preping and the rest is just the finish,do a good job on your prepwork and you will certainly me a lot happer with the end result, cheers

and these are the locks im using ,there exactly what i was after and work well....

ok can you guess what that is attached to the end of the lock?????????

no????? well actually its a special picture hanging clamp, but i turned it into something use for to attach the cable to the lock and still being able to adjust the cable lenght and remove it all together if i want, groovy little gadget, you just press down and thread the wire in and then it clamps it there, they say it can hold up to 75kgs of weight but the latches pressure would be no where near that amount so i think wear pretty safe!!!!

heres the hole for the lock theres one on either side of the lower inner 1/4s,was a bit tricky getting the drill in there do make the hole but managed to do it after much stuffing around

so we got the latch with the cable attached at the top then it runs down the tube into the 1/4 and attaches up to the back of the lock ,these next pics are very hard to make out but there taken thru the hole in the tail light panel ,you can sort of see the back of the lock with the cable attached to the picture hanging hook thing

and heres the lock from underneath

Are you planning on hiding the cables? Also, what are you using to make it an electronic release?

Possibly you could also fit something like these under the bonnet to make it easier and quicker to jump start or attach a charger to the battery.

VPW in Melb2ourne have them
VPW Remote Battrey Terminals

or somewhere like Rocca Bros (if they still exist) or Sprint Auto Parts in Adelaide would probably have them.

Some form of dust cover over those locks would prob be useful.
