Does anyone know where i can buy them from?

i was thinking mf maybe dropping into PPG Industries a few doors down from my work after work, only problem is i finish at 7:30am n i couldn't b fcuked going down later during the day - too many trucks to dodge!

so does anyone know where i can buy them from ?

coz i hate having to ask my bro in law to borrow them form his work, as he needs to take back the next day and i wanna keep them so i can keep looking at the colours for the hundreds of times i am gonna change my mind as i keep building the ute, and i can also get an idea of what colours would suit it n me.

any help at all would be awesome!!

thanks

Kirstie

I don't have paint chips, but you can buy a brochure that has samples of colors that are available from PPG. I got mine from an auto paint store. I think it was about $5 usd or so.

The sample color area is small, but if it comes down to one or two colors, I have purchased a very small quantity of paint and sprayed some old fenderskirts or guards to compare.

Any decent auto paint store can custom mix a color for you, also. Take them a color sample, and they can computer match it. The cost is reasonable, and you can get something custom that nobody else has.

i don't want a custom colour, for the simple reasons that 1. too expensive, and 2. easier to get stock colours if n an acccident or sumone scratches it..........which i doubt will happen as it prob wont be a Daily driver!

but thanks for the tips!!

Are there any colours on cars that you like? I know when i'm driving around, i think to myself i like that colour, that would look good on the ute. When i was choosing a colour for my mini the auto paint store lent me there paint catalogue for the night, i chose a few colours that i liked and got a few free samples made up. Then painted it on a few scrap pieces of sheet and chose the one i liked.

I am a spraypainter by trade (that doesnt mean I know everything) but in my opinion I reckon looking at other cars on the road daily is the go, cause your looking in a normal environment, once you start looking at hundreds of colour chips, it just gets too confusing , you dont get an overall look!
my 2 c worth

Hey Nav4x4...........i have gone thru the colour chips n only took note of the colours i like, so i have narrowed it down ALOT!! but i do appreciate everyone's advice. That is why i made the thread its also good for others who aren't up to that stage yet to see what everyone else tinks.

So i do appreciate your advice, but now i was thinking of having a custom paintjob done.....full army camo!
