I'll second the thought of a family of car nuts. Nothing better than a hands on hobby in the age of video games and endless TV.
We started my son racing a Kart at local Autocross (gymkhana) at age 8 he's now 13 and has a keen interest and respect for cars.
Now Annete you must tell on the subject motorbikes; I used to circuit race a Honda 1 2 5 GP bike before I switched to the Datsun 1200 coupe and do a bit of vintage motocross (even though I'm an awful MX rider). I thnk there are a couple of keen bikers on here as well.

I'm pretty sure after Ryan spends a bijillion hours on his ute it will be well cared for one he takes it out on the road.

I brought Ryan his jr50 at the age of 5 and then a kx60 when he was 7. His pop had him at the power boat races at the age of 4wks. So if he hasnt got some sort of adrenalin in his blood, I dont know what he is running on, lol.
I have road bikes since i was alot younger than I am now, lol. Either as a passanger or in the bush. Since I got my bike licence, I prefer road bikes, especially after breaking my collar bone on the kx (something I have never lived down for doing, but it is funny now, lol), still doesnt stop me looking for a 125 or 250 so I can take ry and his sister out riding. I have a cb250n that I am not parting with, as its in excellent condition for its age, only have to respray it (hopefully it will be next in line after my partner finishes reapraying the car he is doing now, lol) I can dream. I am hoping to special interest it in a few more years. I have always wanted a gsxr6 or a ducati, but i am not sure now, as I may lean more towards a touring style bike, as i want to ride to qld. But it may be put on hold now Ry has his ute and his little sister is wanting a mini or vw to do up.
But at least it gives them something to achieve and get them out of the house

Annette, I think any boy would love to have you for a mum, hell, I wish you were my mum, but, sadly, no such luck. [I'm too old]

Perhaps you should get your own login name since it looks like you will be droping in here from time to time & you too can have your own identity instead of being simply Ryan's mum.

Welcome to the site.

yeah until they seen the cranky mum side, lol..
Just living the now, as in no time he will be old enough to leave home and not need me as much. Want him to have good memories and hopefully a good relationship with his family when he turns into a lovable teenager (lovable teenager, is there any) lol.
For now I will stick to the bike forums and pop in every now and then when Ry gets on to help him out, saving buggering around us both signing in. Kind of use to being just Ryans mum
