Datsun 1200 4dr sedan = 690kgs
Datsun 1200 coupe = 695kgs/1520 lbs
Datsun 1000 4dr sedan = 13cwt (what ever than is)
Datsun 1000 coupe = 13.25cwt
this is what my manual says. my manual has the wheels road tests for all four of these awesome little cars. the manual was printed in 1975
hope this helps

now there r 2 different types of weights written in this site both look official
which one is correct for RHD japanese made 1200 coupes?
"Curb weight 2-dr coupe: 1650 lbs"
Curb Weight 2-dr sedan: 1630 lbs
Add 75 lbs for automatic transmission
Source: Nissan statistics for coupe and sedan

4-dr manual 1532 lbs
4-dr auto 1609 lbs
"2-dr coupe 1520 lbs"
5-dr wagon 1609 lbs
Source: Aussie brochure"

now there is difference of 130lbs between US and OZ coupe!! is this true? if yes then why?
and what is the official weight of a Jap import RHD coupe?
and in above given weights by Datto_Dave he has stated that 4-Dr-Sedan is lighter then Coupe!!!! is it a typo or correct???

It depends on how they measure them. Often, US measurements are with all fluids and 1/2 tank of fuel.

The 1200s outside of US sometimes have no heater. The 1973 US models have heavier bumpers and side-door safety beams.

4-Dr-Sedan is lighter then Coupe
I doubt that ... but the Australian Coupe has carpeting, heater, clock, tacho, etc. While the basic 4-dr might be lacking all that unecessary equipment.

On my rego papers, it says the Tare weight of the vehicle is 711kgs... I think that is with one driver and fuel or something? I forget how they figure out tare weight...

the data on road and track test car is from 1970 so it cant be of a post 73 car, secondly i cant believe that tacho, carpeting, clock and heater could b 130 lbs in weight.
and can anyone tell me if Australian weight is Curb or not as USA weight is Curb.

"Tare weight" is used for shipping. The container shippers list a weight for the 1200 several hundred pounds different than actual. I've heard container shippers are more interested in volume than the actual weight.

I actually weighed my 1200 2-dr sedan on the scales once. Is was very near the 1640 lbs Nissan USA quoted (like maybe 1650 lbs, I didn't write it down unfortunately). I don't remember how much fuel was in it at the time, but it was also missing the front passenger seat.

What's a cwt?

Long Ton Table
16 Ounces = 1 Pound
28 Pounds = 1 Quarter qr.
4 Quarters = 1 Hundred-weight, cwt.
20 Cwt,=2240 lbs= 1 Ton T.

so 1 cwt = 112 lb

1000 sedan = 13 cwt = 661 kg
1000 coupe = 13.25 cwt = 674 kg

sorry guys, but datsun sedans are generally lighter than thier coupe versions. coupes tend to have bigger glass areas and wider bodies at the rear.
