Quote: I dont consider myself to be thick but WTF is a boofhead bar ??? i think i just burst something falling off the chair from laughing so hard !!! a "boofhead bar" is a strut bar/brace that i made around 40( ) of and they can be found gracing the engine bays of some of the finest 1200's in the land ... and even overseas looks like they were a good investment for those lucky enough to get in on them

Okay guys I can't live with the stress anymore. How about someone post up as much info as they have i.e. grade of steel, plate thickness, overall size internal external radius, blah blah blah. If they are THAT popular, I'm happy to investigate manufacture here in Toowoomba

boof can supply the grade of steel for the end plates but as for the bars, there are no more, it was from a closed down supplier that ordered some and the manufacturer made the wrong end plates for them and the bars too short for the car they were supposed to be designed for. they then would not exchange or refund the order.
so the bar is a mystery and there are none left.
there are in fact 40 bars to the public, one trial bar that was boofs original and an unamed bar that was to see if it matched boofs original bars dimensions once fitted.
If you want to work out the bar, find one and measure it.

if you were really keen you could buy the r33 ones off ebay and cut them down to suit....would cost a fair bit more than the original ones, but you would have a strut brace

the r33 on of gtst or the more desirable gtr anre nice, the r43 are even better (lighter aloy with tinner walls on the alloy) but angles are not quite right. you dont have to chop them down but have to cut the end plates off and re weld new ones on. Bought one of each to try and then came across the boof bars.
The other reason for the boof bar was that they could be removed from the end plates for engine removals etc. another bonus!
Hope you dont mind boof, no more CAN be made by BOOF inc anyway

end plates are on TnPshow's web site .... it's HERE right down the bottom of the page .... do with them what you want as long as no (or at least minimal) commercial use is involved the file type is a .dwg from autoCAD2005 (but is saved to 2000 from memory?) cant remember the thinkness but the end plates are just mild black steel .... just checked ... they're 3mm
