I dont think I would buy one, but sticking some magnets with tape to the oil filter doesnt seem a bad idea.

Well anything that helps remove abrasive particles from the oil has got to be a good thing, particularly when an engine is new or newly rebuilt as the rings & bore produce a lot of micro particles during the break in/ run in period.

Many use the sump plug magnet to draw out iron particles in suspension. These things are a pain to clean, but the amount of metal that they collect is amazing & that alone makes them worthwhile.

I think it would be better to attract metal to the filter not the sump plug, at least its trapped in the filter not sitting below the crank.

Yes, a hose clamp and a couple of high powered hard drive magnets attached to the outside of the oil filter will do the job..

The advantage of the sump plug magnet is that it can be removed & cleaned at oil change time & oil pan magnets, even the outside ones, work day & night, running or not.
The oil filter one traps the metal in the filter & is disposed of with the filter, but I wonder just how good it is at removing material from oil that is rushing by at fairly high speed.

Ahhh who cares, even a little is better than none. So now we can use magnets to not only heal our bodies, but to prevent injury to our engines.

Mmmmm magnetism, natures mirracle.

I say bollocks! Metal particals that can pass thru a oil filter dont do any harm. Otherwise oil filters would be finer.

All this product does is steal your money and clog your oil filter so the oil pump cant pump oil and your motor seizes. Quality product
