More RPM doesn't mean more power

Good headwork will yeild better results

No smaller diff ratio gives you more high speed, but you sacrifice acceleration

but couldnt you keep the diff and increase your rpm that way you keep the acceleration and get the higher top speed?

in theroy yes... but would you want to be doing 10k which is very unstable for any motor, especially a a-series and hitting your top speed? Or be doing 5k?

Where did you get this idea of revving a 1960s pushrod motor to 10k from? You dont want all your power that high up anyway, it would like be having MASSIVE lag. more RPM does not mean more power. power is RPM x torque. peak torque is usually reached before 6k

Let me see if I understand here.
I assume that this is a street car & not a balls to the wall racer.

1. You want to keep the diff ratio that you have.
2. You want to go faster by reving harder to 10k. [You like the sound of high reving engines]
3. You want to rev it about 25% more than just about any A15 race engine sees.
4. You assume that the flywheel is simply going to stay there at that speed.
5. You think the engine will stay in one piece at this engine speed without blueprinting, since you dislike it.
6. You think it will make good power at those engine speeds.
7. You think that none of this has been tried before by highly competitive racers & factory race teams.

If you ever succeed, please let us know as there will be many who will pay for the secret of your success.

I think you nailed that on the head dodgeman.

There is a photo on here somewhere that shows what happens to trans tunnels when flywheels let go at high rpm...

There are more than a few who have discovered after a full-on missed shift that the flywheel has come loose from the crank.
This can be overcome, but most racers try to keep below the critical RPM anyway by wringing its neck for all it's worth, & making sure that they make the shift & don't over rev the engine above about 8,500 if possible. It takes a pretty good engine & a brave man to be continue much past that.

I dislike valve bounce. And id also like to know what blue printing doees. Im not after power at all in that rev range id just like it to be able to with hold or be capible of that rpm in case and the top speed thing imm just thinking of. sorry if i confused you i confused myself after re reading it the way you put it.
