Nope It just feeds the surge tank at low pressure any eccess returns to fuel tank. Id say that regulator is required for carburation. It has worked fine as a lift pump. (using it the way I do its not running at 15psi)Im pretty sure there is no pressure as there is no resistance.
Cheers Andrew

i bought a carter black for my twin webers but had to remove it cause it the worlds nosiest pump... i swear my lawn mower is quiter that it lol i used it for like 20secs bought it off ebay new, unsure if theres anything that is wrong with it that cause's it to make that nosie but pumps #### loads of fuel quite well if u want it u can have it for $30 i can only presume that they are for race only due to sound, but it could be just this one as i did a little reserch on net and theres wasnt many complains of noise. ow ive also got a new unsed holly reg u can have for $50(i forget how much there worth if im well out please tell).

i would say a carter silver or there is a gold i think aswell that would fill your surge tank quickly enough.

I have a carter black feeding my weber fed 12a bridgeport, i run it with a modified reg and have variable fuel pressure. you wont need a reg for what you are doing.

i would also reccomend staying away from holley pumps.

carter has a much better mounting system supplied. theyre quieter and cheaper than holleys. enough said.

good luck

sounds like we might see you in a datto soon!

edit: curtis the blacks are noisy. thats becuase of the amount of fuel they pump. way overkill for twin webers. boofhead runs twin 40's successfully passed 8krpm with standard mechanical pump.

Cool!

Pump decision made!

Carter black and Bosch 044. (Funny enough the Carter will cost me more than the 044....)

Always happy to hear from your experience Andrew....to think I bought a crossmember of you in 2003....taken me a little while to actually fit it!

A new ute? I remember seeing pics of the old one for years and years ago!

You'll still hang on to the coupe for circuits I assume and use the utes for drags.

i agree with Curtis they are loud even with the rubber mounting, mine was louder than my 044 bosch pump, if you don;t need the reg, would it quieter? how much are Carter blacks now?

paid just over $100 for mine new.

the blacks are noisy yes. but it makes half the noise my holley blue used to make.

if i was mildman id use the carter gold as theyre much quieter than the black and should fill the surge tank sufficiently.

Where'd you get yours from Ange? $100ish sounds pretty good.

Maybe I'll go gold, but as it is a circuit car the noise is not really an issue for me.

Hi Mildman
I just thought I'd let you know that I have been running an R31 tank with a Bosch 040 pump successfully on the street and track for a fair while.
Anyway I guess it depends on how far you want to go.
Good luck with it.
Matty
