Out of curiosity. What happened to the professional TIG welds and 4mm steam pipe?

Quote:

the welding guy will be using a tig welder hes not some dodgy guy from a backyard setup he is a proffesional welder if they exist ive seen much of his work and its nice.i showed the pictures of th exhaust that we all like and he said it will be the same but designed to sit a bit closer to the a series, when i requested the pipiing he asked weather i wanted stainless or or mild steel, i said mild steel, he said they can buy mandrel bend steem pipiing made from mild steel which he said was about 4mm thick.
Referenced Here

What is the ID and OD of the steam pipe bends used?
Looking at your pic and focusing on exhaust ports 2 & 3 your manifold seems to have a gap inbetween the to pipes and plenty of room on the outside edge of the flange.
On my manifold I had to grind a flat edge on the inside edge of pipes 2 & 3 to fit them snug together and squeeze them on the flange. Kegs manifold appears the same as mine in reference to this.

Is it just that we have used a larger ID pipe?

Its bad news for the B10 boys, but this is a real boon for every one else, thanks so much Jake for going out of your way so that all the members of the site could have access to such a top bit of kit at such an affordable price, I think congratulations are in order.

i've done a bit of looking thru stuff 've got on piping and cant put a reference to the stamp you've quoted ... can you check or get a pic of it ?? i'd really like to know that it is definitely a pressure pipe of some description not just an everyday mild steel bend what is the wall thickness on the pipe ... this is a pretty easy way to get an idea of what the pipe is, or as phunk suggested the external and internal diameters.
after looking at the pics again the one below doesn't show a great deal of thickness where the pipes from cyl 2,3 join just inside the flange

Does it have to be so thick tho? Remember this isnt the part where all the boost runs through, so it shouldnt have to be thicker then a set of headers... and they dont seem that thick!

yeh but headers dont have to hold up a heavy turbo day in day out, and the boost will run through this, on the way out?

that number could be a 6 at the start 61stdwp8562 i cant get a good enough photo of it. i also cant measure the thickness of the pipe because its all welded together(no ends to measure), when i go in again tommorow i will measure the pipe
