with a stock ecu i would keep it under 14psi
the stock injectors run out at about 160kw

i have run 20psi+ thorugh a standard motor/ecu about 4 years ago. it lasted a few months.(not reccomended)

i have got a stock rebuild ca18det that should be going in the next month or so and am hoping to run 18psi...

if the computer is stock you will be limited by the boost cut before you run out of fuel. The boost cut restricts the spark, or is it fuel?, when the AFM runs out of resolution. This effectively limits maximum power as the power is directly related to the volume of air passing through the AFM. This is designed so you don't ever lean the motor out ie. running 20psi on a standard everything motor!

know there are ways around it, I was just explaining that they are limited from the factory much like they are rev limited. This point may be taken as a rough guideline to how far you can push a standard CA.

The question you should have asked to begin with should have been "what sort of power can I make reliably on an internally standard CA18". The power output is a better indication of the stress on engine components rather than just the boost level.

In my opinion i reckon you should be able to reliably push a healthy standard engine up to around the 180-190rwkw mark as long as you have a good tune and the right bolt-ons obviously. You would want to service it very regularly etc too. I will be testing these limits myself in the future on my own standard motor.

Laney, i'm looking for injectors as well, standard 370cc max 295hp, if i go GTR 440cc max 350hp, would this be close? anyone know from experience? i have read that the cc of an injector divided by 5 = hp that injector can flow.

I'm sure most people know about these pages, but here is a Injector Flow Calculator page, and a page that gives the Injector Flows of most popular cars. They are click able links...
