no there was no hole, i got a new head gasket and drilled a hole and it seems oil is comming through now. i just need to double check the valve clearences as there is still alot of ticking.

While you're at it, check to see if there is damage to the poshrods & adjusters at the rockers & also have a look at the rocker to shaft clearance.
If the engine was run without oil to the rockers for very long, then it's possible that these parts may be damaged, & if so, then repair by replacement would be the go.

What head gasket did you use?

could the ticking be caused by worn/ damaged valves etc. and i got the gasket from repco.

yer still got it had brake probs so didnt sell as it was ####ed. got them fixed and tried to change head now running into more problems. hopefully i can sort it out. dont even know if i solved the oil problem

Start her up (not for very long) without the valve cover on, you should see oil come out of the rockers.

any head will click after u have taken it off.

check (by doin what whitesedan said) that u ahve oil up there now and then if u do take it for a good spin around the block.

if ticking persists conmsult your doctor

does anybody have a picture that would show were the oil should be comming from there are lots of little hole across top op rocker but it seems more to be comming out of the two bolt looking things that are next to the head bolt. excuse my lack of not technical language
