i gave up on insurance to im 22 and a ca18 datto ute isnt some thing they want :(

were they willing to give u 3rd party fire n theft?

i was wit sgio since i was 17 and i got the datto and they said we dont do 1200 utes :(

and i rang round and no one would do it unless you had like other cars insured wit em

i dont like drive aroud knowing if i hit a merc or some thing i have to pay for it .. sucks ey

How bout you sell it to one of your parents (not for real but just so it's on the paperwork) then get whichever one you 'sell' it to, to insure it and list you as a driver.

They'll get cheaper insurance and there'll be a small fee for listing you as a regular driver. You still get to drive it and you just pay them when the insurance is due!

That's what I do, but mine doesn't have a CA... yet

Not sure about Shannon's but I'm with NRMA and I have mine comphrehensively insured with my car valuated on market value (the prices are only going up ) So I just show them a bunch of overpriced ones that are for sale and they give me heaps!! (Well that's the plan, not that I want mine written off of course)

shannons were happy to insure the ute at $15k i just had to send some photos.
