Go and see Ron at Total Performance in Lower Hutt and he'll look after you.

I flipped the leaves of mine about 16 months ago. I just took out the top two and turned them upside down. Used some G clamps and then put the middle bolt back in.

It lowered it about 4 or 5 inches l think

I was really concerned with the handling and performance initially, but have been amazed by it. I'm even considering leaving them this way. If you can put up with a stiff ride it's definately an easy option.

Besides, if you don't like it, then just do it the proper way...Best thing is all it costs is time!!!

I thought lowering blocks were illegal, certificate or not.

Can't you just get a suspension shop to reset your springs to desired height? This is what I planned on finding out about for my ute

andos,

When you flipped the two leafs, did you have to do anything to the rear guards so the tyres didn't scrape or are they ok? I am only runnin 13" rims, do you think I would get away with it without too much scrapage?

oh yeah, and thanks once again for all your replies guys....greatly appreciated!

2" blocks are the biggest you can use in QLD.

The guards were very close to the wheel, and when l went to roll them l found some rust....so l literally just cut about an inch off the guard.

I'm running 15" though, so l doubt you'd have any probs at all with 13". It still would have worked with the 15" if l just rolled the guards.

Oh yeah, lowering blocks are legal as long as they meet the material certification as specified by vicroads (in vic anyway). So yes you can make your own, and yes it would be really cheap.

You wouldn't want more than two inch blocks anyway, coz then it induces larger displacements and much poorer handling.
