i got an approx qoute today for a turbo system setup including custum turbo ehaust manifold intercooler piping dump pipe 3 inch zorst with muffler all in stainless steel and fitted for about 1800 bucks does this sound a bit costly cos it does to me whats your opinion

doesnt sound too bad to me, I was quoted minimum of $800 to make a turbo manifold for my FJ

it just sounded expesive but now tat i add it all up its probably not that bad considering all the little brackets and clamps a stuff needed, maybe i will, maybe i will.

stainless piping isnt cheap. and buying mandrel bends (which is what most exhaust shops do, coz few have a good mandrel bender) cost too. all up thats pretty good.

custom exhaust(3" stainless, what a bout muffler? he would include that i suppose?)
custom intercooler piping (prob 2.5" stainless")
custom turbo manifold
labour

pretty good deal. although yes, for just a bit of piping it seems expensive.

a year ago when 2.5" stainless was like $15/m (AUD) you prob would have saved 300 bucks.

i think i got quoted $50/m for 2.5" when i was buying mine (a few months ago). lucky my mate had some left over!

the guy did say that pricing on stainless can change day by day one day it cheap the next it isnt

Jake sounds like a great deal ,you say fitted, what exactly do you get?

Do you drive in standard and drive out turboed? if so whats the guys number?

as far as i understand yeah i drive in drive out a few seconds faster im meeting back up with him tommorrow to get a break down of prices and im gonna also find out about a bulk load of manifolds, the price 1800 was for a setup he finished like a week ago for another 1200 ute a12 so he said it should be the same but ill defintely tell you guys what the outcome is.
