Thanks Matt

I've heard (but not tried) that the R31 tank is a little tricker to get under a coupe.

I think my next solution after lift - surge - hi pressure pump - will be a fuel cell with an in tank 040.....just have to save the $$$ for the drop tank/fuel cell.

Nope, the only regulator you need is the one of the fuel rail of the engine - the black will work fine without one.

I know this topic was directed towards the use of EFI. But for the people who have been talking about webers I thought you may find this handy.
After lots of of messing around and using the cheap facet pumps from supecheap I wish I had found this webpage in the first place.

http://www.racetep.com/webfuelspark.html#webfuel

It also tells you some good info about ignition systems.

Here's the execution of the idea....

Now just got to bend up some fuel pipes.

Umm, just tell me, is this mounted inside a tool box? Why is that? It certainly isn't a flame proof container for mounting for CAMS, and the vibrations of the pump would surely test those Chinese spot welds! While I'm on a roll, why not use a steel EFI fuel filter? And will it be bolted through the base to the floor of the car?

Well I've got to have somewhere to mount the Carter the side of the box works well.

If there is any spillage the box will contain it - as it's water tight.

I'm using a steel EFI filter in the engine bay.

and yeah I think I'll bolt it to the floor of the car - maybe with a sheet of rubber between the box and the car for absorbing vibration.

Don't knock those Chinese welds, I trust them every day with all sorts of made in china tools....

Do you know what the CAMS rules on fuel pumps inside the car are dog160? I rang them late last week, but they haven't come back to me yet...

hmmm... well all that stuff needs to be sealed from the cabin

if its in the boot you need a firewall between it and the cabin, i did that in the red coupe

otherwise you will need to seal that box up and vent it to atmosphere (though i dont know that that will pass)

i was thinking from the start of reading this thread just now........ your gonna need a firewall between boot and cabin

i've actually got my old one sitting in the back yard, complete with harness bar

to say your not worried about the noise of the pump cause it's a circuit car... you are gonna regret that... the noise of a loud pump gets old damn quick even in a motorsport only car, and especially one thats had all carpet/sound deadening stripped

is this car gonna have a roll cage?

good to see the progress mate

Car has a full cage....maybe I'll drop in and have a look at your old setup.

I didn't really think it was going to be an issue - maybe I'll come have a look at what you mean and take it from there.

Talking to a guy into racing at work and seems to support your thoughts Mike.

A rear firewall is probably in order.

Apparently just a think piece of Al and some silcone on the edges is plenty....

I imagine your old setup would be in the backyard of your 'old' place too....
