I used to think that fitting an imobiliser and keeping the old girl locked was a safe way to ensure my pride and joy stayed safe. I also thought that it was a sort of public safety thing (cant have young hoons killing themselves in a 800kg 120kw rocketship).
Well Iv changed my mind, Iv been trying to sell the old girl over the past couple of weeks so shes been parked out on the street with 4 sale signs on. Last night some sub human low life tried to steal her, when they couldnt get her started they tried to tourch her to remove any evidence of themselves. I wish they had got her going and removed any evidence of themselves from existance.

Any thoughts?

One night when I left my KB10 parked on the street, some dickless wonder decided to run over the little car leaving me with a dented hood, dented roof and dented bootlid.
Jeez I would like to get my hands around that fcukwits neck.

datsonovic thats bad news, the only thing i can suggest is only leave it out during the day when buyers and you can see it. Then at night you put her away to sleep and keep safe !!
i looked out my front window after hearing my dog barking a few years ago and found some thug with a screw driver at my Datto's door lock. By the time i got outside he had run half way up the street (seen a gemini race off).
Thats the last time i parked my Datto on the road overnight.

My old 351 Fairlane was stolen from my driveway overnight a few years back. Whoever wanted it must have been keen 'coz she had a lumpy cam and double pumper (nice and loud). They had to push it out of the driveway and down the street to start it, otherwise I would have heard it.

I still remember the awkward feeling walking out the front ready for work. Asked everyone in the house if they'd moved my car round the side of the house. 'No', then my reaction, 'F U C K'.

I remember when I first got the car it belonged to my arnt (who crashed it and the company wrote it off), then my cousin had it (the farm next to us) she drove the car for about 2 years, then I saw it and said "that's mine!" when my friend came over one day we went down there and stole it. Then she came and stole it from me this happened about 5 times, then I took it home and painted it that green, she took one look at it and never came again.

there is nothing worse than walking out to your car in the morning to see a door ajar and to find all stereo gear gone and all the cd's gone too.
even worse when you have a good idea of who it is and you just cant prove it!!!!

on a lighter note, my mate had his mk1 escort stolen, but when it was recovered by the police he found it had had an oil and filter change, a new stereo installed, and a car cologne air freshener on the dash.
all he had to do was clean the needles and spoons out of the back.
