or get the supercharged ver as it has stronger internals then the other 16v model dunno if they are better then the 20v internals though

Probably the best choice overall is the A15 bored to 78 or 79mm. This will give you your 1.6L capacity, & all of these engines were fully imported into Australia, therefore criteria met.

These are simple to install, have an abundance of parts available, will take modest boost rather well if you address the boost retard issue, they live long, run strong & are not too hard to find.

All in all, a great package for a 1000 ute.

nah that looks like a mini SR more so than a CA

dont think its the smartest thing to attempt putting a FWD engine into RWD car, lots of problems waiting to happen

4AGZE is the way to go, or maybe a 2tc turbo....not an import though
