Does anyone know which cam grind, make and where in Oz I could get for 3000-7000 rpm range? (a14 with 4-3-1 extractors, twin 40mm webers and standard internals)
I've tried to find listing but nothings available.
Crow and other companies can make one up for me but dont want to take the risk with those who just supply cams for v8s and 6s.
Stirling, DD or anyone else know any suitable grinds before I put the engine back in??
Dont want to rev the tits out of it especially when the a15 crank goes in later with the mystery motorbike pistons.

you can get some good ones from Kelford cam's in Christchurch.

In particular, I used a "kelford 29" in my rally 1200, was really driveable and very "user friendly" on the road e.t.c.
(it really impressed me)

There are a few companies in NZ who could help you out, but like Brent I would recommend talking to Kevin at Kelfords 03 3664514 or www.kelford.co.nz or Brendon at CSL in Palmerston North 06 3563700 he has a lot of experience with A series engines. Give them all the details you know about the engine and how you plan to use it and they will look after you.

Gracias fellas a kelford 29 sounds like the one from www.kelford.co.nz
Any ideas on price? Ill gladly have it done in Nz. Here in Aus they are a little laid back and v8 minded. But dam those gemini, escort and corollas with inferior performance engines and heavy body weights, they can get cams here off websites.
Then again I never hear them doing anything except with a rotary or fj20 turbo.

With the Kelford 29 they just re-profile a second hand cam so the cost is not that great, you'll probably spend more on postage he he, nah give kelfords a ring - I had a couple of cams done about 18 months ago and from memory it was NZD120 plus tax each.
Ultimately it depends on what they have to do and weather they have to source a second hand cam. If they have to start building things up so it can be reprofiled then you will be up for a bill like cfwase indicates.

Tighe Cams in Brissie has a good reputatuion and range. I use a Tighe cam in my L series and am very happy with it's performance - they have lots of experience and are actively involved in motorsport.

D,
Call Jeff at JTS in St Marys (NSW) on 02 96238826 and tell him what you want you car to do and he will select a cam that you need. About 3 years ago i brought a cam for an L-series for about $120 for a regrind and it was exactly what i needed.

I have a Kelford-ground cam in my A15. From memory it was $86+GST for the grind. I also had the lifters refaced on their recommendation and some new stiffer springs. All up was about $300 including GST and freight to North Island. It's designed for 4000-8000 but is driveable under that. Can't remember the guys name but seemed to know his A-series, told me CR to use and even gave approx. recommendations on carb and choke sizes.
