Sound System for a 1200 Ute?

I'm about to go shopping for some car audio equipment for my 1200 ute.
I have to admit that I'm not too up with car audio. Obviously I will fit a CD Head Unit but any recommendations for the speakers - amp etc.
I would love a subwoofer but can you fit one in? Even a small one perhaps.
I dont want to go over the top but would just like a good quality system with some bass?

ANY IDEAS UTE OWNERS (or anyone for that matter)

Ok
Headunit: If you want options and VERY good sound quality go with Alpine, but Pioneer nowdays has become very very popular as they are starting to make their headunits advance with adding many options, JVC Are another brand resurfacing with some good units, I recommend if you have a computer and burner you need to get a MP3 player I fit about 200songs per CD :) DON'T go with sony explode, they are so not worth the money you pay, and their quality isn't as good as other unit, although if your on a tight budget go with them.

Front Stage: If you want Very good clarity and the feel for bass up the front, i would get component Splits (they cost a bit but yet are extremely good) Or to save a bit of money jusat go with splits, whats the difference you ask? Just the active crossover.
Or you could go with 6.5" coaxials still good speakers but unless your after perfect quality these don't match splits or component. Or you could try 6x9's, they are a good but haven't tried.

Amps are dear you could go with any brand they are all pretty much good, although Jaycar's RESPONSE amps are much cheeper and perform extremely well, so I went with them.

Subs, I don't know what you can fit,

regards
Damo

My stereo is a very low budget one that has quite nice sound quality, this is in a sedan, 35 x 4 pioneer head unit powering two Awa 5" 2 ways in the front and 2 7 inch house speakers mounted in a single house speaker box on the rear parcel shelf, go the wood veneer! And the most different bit so far in the 5" powered panasonic sub that goes under the drivers seat, mmmmmmm vibrating seat!
One option for the ute that I have seen is mounting two 12" subs, one behind each passenger seat (on the back of the cab) not too sure how legal this is?! with the amp in between, with a perspex box over the top.

if any one gets there stuff from jaycar ask about the shaker only if you want to buy it the descriptoin is as follows :this electromagnetic transducer is now available seperatly. mount these under your favourite home theatre chair or chairs or under the car seat for amazing car sound basically from what i have learnt from other places there are metal parts inside with would normaly be made of other stuff and because they are metal they shake a lot more thats why its called the shaker so if you really wana feel the bass buy these baby's
