hey i was on this site asking questions about droping a ca18det in to a datson 1200 ute a few months ago.

now i have the ute and a shop that can do it ( AND THATS DONE IT BEFORE), a quote for the price of droping the motor and box and diff in and build the exhaust.

now all i need is the prices on mod plateing in townsville (qld) a half cut of a s13 or the motor and box and a r31 diff

some help with theese last things is needed any advice or people selling this stuff in the next 3 weeks in townsville would be cool thanks

So how much was the quote from the workshop on doing the conversion for you out of interest?

I've only heard of how much it cost many people on here to do the conversion themselves, so i would be interested to know how much a workshop would charge.

As for the motor and box as well as the diff you have quite a few options. There are plenty of performance engine importers around.....well in sydney at least, who can score you a half cut for the 2000-3000 mark i would imagine. Or just look on fleabay and such you should score a second hand motor and box quite easily.

As for the diff either just go to a wreckers and get one yourself and have it all cut down and a tail shaft modified etc or if your lucky you may find one already modified for you to whack straight in. From what i have seen these can be rare however on their own so if you have the funds, go the wreckers option and have it all modified.

Cheers
Trav

hey mate wat is the work shop gonna do ?
are they making the engine mounts ? coz if your buying a half cut and all the gear from maddat . and they are charging $1500 to $2000 just to put the motor in your getting ripped off coz putting the motor in, is a 2 hour job wit the maddat mounts. the wiring and intercooler is the hard part .
whos doing the gear box tunnel ?
whos doing the brake booster ?
tail sharft ?

It's like I keep saying, "I'll have the CA up and running next month for sure!"

I was "going" to have my sunny at this years datnats, but it was only today that it got back from Micks. At least it drives, turns, stops and does all that stuff now. Now I just have to get it painted, put all my new interior in and do this, that and the other, and it will be ready for rego.
At least by the time it is finished insurance will be a bit cheaper cause i will be older.
