Hey guys

after having my car at the paint shop, i got my car back last week, and to be informd they cant find the id tag that this rivetted onto the car..

i have the tag that has the shell number but not the one with the VIN number..

can anyone tell me how i should go out this?

did they loose it?? if they did its there problem not sure how u go about it in adelaide but that would cause all sorts of rego trouble here in nsw..

has it been registered in your name before?

i would be spitting chips at the panel shop

certainely would expect some sort of compensation

yeh its been in my name for 2yrs..

they also lost my door hinges but they said the sand blasters must of took them off and denie it..

so yeh..

i hvae all rego people and all that stuff

coz im getting engineered and that with the ca18det in it.. so yeh

go to the trans port department . or tell the pannel beater youll go to the cops . there could be a law about removing them ? they didnt swap cars on ya ?
pannel beaters can be very doggy

tell them u will go to the police they can use that tag to rebirth cars

you might need a police report to get a new id plate

i still got the tag that has the chassis number but not the silver one that goes on the passenger side..

i made him look around the whole shop for the hinges but claims he didnt find them and his lazy so it not gonna happen, but cant acuse him mabe it was the sand blasters..

but i got the rego plates and the other id so mabe thats enough seeing as im getting it engineered..

Motor rego will issue you with a certificate that will prove identity of the vehicle. To do this the police or department of transport will inspect the car. Its just a bit of paper work and a waist of your time. get the panel beater to do the leg work for you if it is his fault.
