#1 help with e15et in 1000ute
Matto1kUte Posted on: 2007/10/14 11:55
i couldnt find much on this subject but i have put a 120y gearbox on to my e15et by using a vanette thrust bearing and carrier (little smaler in length) ive used the stock e15 flywheel and clutch and all looks to match up perfect. next i recon i have to dril a round hole in my fire wall to fit my dizzy. does anybody know if i will run into any other probs? i think i may also have to cut my utes engine mounts off :(. also does anybody know if a turbo off a
ca18 will fit straight on to my e15et manifold?

somebody put a thread up called 'food for thought' or something about fitting a E15(FWD) into a A series(RWD) engine bay. Looks like your gonna have alot of trouble with engine mounts! Have a search for the thread.

Good luck! and keep us posted!

Tnpshow started the thread on this. A CA turbo should bolt up to the standard manifold.

Cheers

Haha yeh thats the biggest drama with 1000 engine conversions. Height! You may have to go XR8 bonnet hump style! Or a scoop of some description. Doubt you could drop the X member, maybe a 10mm spacer?

does anybody know if there is a tailshaft the same as my 1000 one but 2-4 inches longer?also again does anybody know if drop my crosmember 1-2 inches if it will effect anything else such as steering and suspension. if not i may have to modify sump, rockercover and bonnet. i really really dont wanna put a scoop or anything on it

could you not tilt the engine towards the passenger side slighty? should make it low enough, plus give more room for things like a brake booster
