Trust me you and your perants will be happier with a Honda - 140hp out of the box.

... + a cam and higher compression. And you would probably want to balance the bottom end as well. The stock clutch probably wont hold 140hp and what gearbox do you have currently?

Reliable 150 HP as a daily driver using A series in an 800kg ute.
You can make it reliable(just)for big money, but it wil be an absolute piece of crap to drive on the road, you will have nothing under 3-4 thousand RPM and you will be changing gears at around 8-9 RPM+ with back tyres lighting up just before the cops nail you and cart your pride and joy off to the pound.
If you have not done one already,do an advanced driving course, once completed do some track days with proffesional teachers to learn how to handle the new power to weight ratio comparable to a Porsche GT3 but without the brakes and handling.

I offer my advise based on experiance and competition results over many many years,it's here to take or leave

By the sounds of it you're going to be selling this after you're off your p's so is it worth spending all this money when you're just going to lose it in a year when you sell it?

If I were you I would keep the ute as is until you're off your p's and save the money you're going to spend on the engine for your next car.

Otherwise spend the money and convert it to CA. You'll get 140hp a whole lot more reliably and you'll have scope for more power down the track whereas with the Hypo A15 you will have already developed it nearly as much as you can (at least for a street car.)

Just my opinion

Do you have to drive on dirt roads? Why is it too delicate?
