Not trying to come across rude, but you have made numerous threads on here, listed the car on ebay twice; I would assume advertised locally?? The car has drummed up alot of attention but still isnt getting the money your after, obviously you think it is worth more than most are willing to pay, it may be rare but that doesnt mean its worth alot. I believe for the condition of the car you are asking too much money, it woudl cost over $1000 just to get to raod worthy. How much in real terms does the car owe you? I recently bought a n320 from victoria, it is in much better condition, but still I spent 2g getting it road worthy, it needed all new brake components, all new suspension front and rear, and had a burnt valve, I did all the work myself and it still cost this much.

Not having a go at you particularly but I am sick of the theme that both american overhaulin shows and ebay have brought to old cars, that is, "oh its old, its worth a mint"!!! In my honest opinion I would far rather sell a car that may fetch $1500 if I hold out till the very last dime to someone for $500 if I beleive they will cherish and restore the car.

Cheers and good luck hope it goes to a good home.

It is a 1962 Datsun U320 Ute. Double Cab. Seats 6.

No seat belts though.

Only needs new brakes. Rest is good. Not much rust.

BELOW IS A LETTER I RECEIVED FROM THE EARLY DATSUN CLUB.www.earlydatsun.com

Hi there, nice to hear from you.
Thanks for sending the photos of the U320. I saw it listed on eBay a while back, you obviously didn't have much luck with that. There have been a couple of double cabs sold this year on eBay, it might be worth trying again in a few weeks.
It is nearly impossible to put a value on something like a Datsun 320. I own a 1962 320 myself, and I personally think they are priceless, but the reality is that they never sell for large prices. The most I have ever seen a 320 sell for in the 20 years I have been interested in them has been for $6500, which was for a fully restored double cab. The last double cab that I saw that sold on eBay went for $2500. (Which actually sold to someone in England, who spent another $5000 shipping it over there) There is a 1964 double cab for sale at the moment at the public trustee's auction facility at Aspley in Brisbane, which is for sale for $2000. The market for these things is dependant on there being an entheusiast looking for one at the time. These things can literally sell overnight, at high prices, if people are waiting for one to come along. Other times it can take 1/2 a year to sell one.
As much as I would love to see them sell for high prices, realistically, one in the condition yours is in I wouldn't expect to see sell for any more than $2500-$3000 maximum.
Please keep in touch, and if you do sell the vehicle please pass my details on to the new owner.
Alan

Early Datsun Club said $2000 would be a reasonable price for it. A lot better condition than some of the modern cars

Where is this Old Datsun Club?

Sounds like an interesting club, could you supply details?

You should put pics of the car up.

He has put pics of the car up, and it seems to be a pretty cool car, I am surprised it didnt sell.

thats pretty cool car, but like most people, they cant justify the cash for another car. We all wish we could save them all.
