my reconmendation would be to get a newer camary as in one of the ones with the vvti engines, very reliable and great to drive, cheap to run and service. best value for money and that is coming from a 19 yr old hoon

Quote: Nothing wrong with magnas from about 2000+ either, except that the rear 3 plugs are platinum and front 3 are normal?? always questioned that one as you could make all of them platbnium for service sake. you have to remove intake manifold to get to the rear 3. F...damn that's wierd, having 3 plugs of one type and 3 of another, first time I ever heard of that.. But I suppose they still make more money changing those front 3 than simply making all 6 platinum. EDIT: With the exchange rate as it is, I would probably be able to buy two brand new 1400 bakkies for $20K

i used to valet park at a 5 star hotel, and the awd magan never failed to impress against a lot of supposedly better cars.
eruo accord great but more than 20k.
all depends on thier needs. Camry vvti is a great model camry (just superseeded) but still most decent ones are more than 20k, especially the better sportivo trim levels. (get the 4cyl sportivo not the v6... v6 is overrated and too much weight over front axle)

Where do i start????
Well first and foremost i would spend the 20k on my wagon. Do the whole CA thing and spend heaps on the interior and stereo.
Other than that though....
-Evo 3 lancer (dunno why but i just always loved these cars) -Series 5 rx7 (Love them but would have to be in good nick and i would get it checked over from top to bottom cause most of them have been THRASHED) -Gt forrester -B4 liberty (I would buy my missus' cousins but would have to talk him down, he's asking 25) -Suzuki sierra soft top 1.3l for around 3-4000 then lift kit and suspension upgrades, all custom roll bars and bull bars etc and work the engine with new stronger gear box. FUN FUN FUN!!!!
As for your friend i would probably buy a '05 or up second hand GX impreza. They were only 25k on the road brand new with alloys, air and other bits and pieces, so you should be able to find one for 20k and are good value in my eyes.
Cheers Trav

$20k would be more than enough to finish off Kirstie's wagon, which will be her daily (I get the Telstar for my drive to Victoria next year, YAY!!!).
I've had a couple of EF-EL Falcons, probably the best modern Falcon. These are as cheap as chips these days. Realistically though, I'd chase something large and old. A shmick XP Falcon (can you sense my Ford bias) can be had for under $10k.
If I was going modern I'd go for a dual cab ute just like bert.
