talking about insurance and stuff being expensive i now pay 1300 dollars with justcar with every mod listed to my car even ones i plan to do down the track plus i have lost my licence as well.
insurance for turbo/engine converted cars is cheaper than insurance for the cars our engines priginally come from ie s13 silvias etc, insurance is easy to afford as long as u have a job !!! im an apprentice for #### sake if people say they cant afford insurance they have issues, but back to lockers, i run a mini spool and will never have anything else lsd's and opens are too unpreictable wet or dry. i ended up getting a locker because i tried driving in the wet once and it took me till 4th gear before i started to move from stationery and that was not siting there trying to spin it was just above idle speed......

Any diff is dangerous if you don't handle it correctly. Any car is for that matter.

I've never spun up an open wheeler unintentionally, but I 180'd the locker the day after I bought the car. That was a silly mistake, I got the ####s waiting to turn right in traffic so I popped the clutch. It was pissing down rain and within 2sec I was facing the other way. Since then I have a lot more respect for what it can do and drive accordingly.

In the end if you want a locker go for it. Just take on board everything that has been said in regards to the topic so you understand what you're buying into.

I believe that the 1200 sedan SL33PE [sleepy] was writen off in spectacular circumstances recently from a standing start & it ran a locker diff I'm told.

yes and it was clearly because of the locker that it was written off
the only way anyone is going to find out if they like a locker or not is to actually try one out. there is too much bullshit going around about how bad lockers are

So in WA who pays for the other party when you cause the crash and as a result they end up with a broken arm or broken back?
that insurance is included in your rego

You proudly say of 5 or so cars, but yet you seem to be under the impression that if no insurance, then in an accident nothing can happen to you except pay for your own car.

yea i have wats called 3rd party insurance with sgio it covers the car you hit but doesnt cover your car , and if your car gets stolen they pay up to $4000 to replace it this is the bare miniman

all my cars are under $10,000 each to have them all insured under full comp would be over $ 6000 , in my opinon its not worth it
rather put that monie into my morgage

maybe "3rd party" is called some thing different over where you are steve

OK, so you have Third Party insurance as part of your registration, same as the rest of us, & you have 'Third Party Property Damage Only' insurance to pay for tha damage to someone elses property that is caused by your car but in the main, it does not cover repairs to your car.
That's what i have & should really be a minimum for everyone.
