http://www.aclperformance.com.au/ (Pistons + gaskets + bearings)
http://www.spoolimports.com (Rods + Cam gears)
http://www.cppistons.com/ (pistons)
http://www.ariaspistons.com/ (pistons)

There is also ROSS racing, Wiseco, TOMEI, REVS, Eagle.

just off the top of my head and with a quick google search.

Compression ratio is dependent on what you want to do, 99% of applications will be fine with stock compression ratio. There are plenty of 300+ RWHP CA running around with stock Compression ratio.

Best bet would be to chat with your engine builder.

You want Cheaper? Crikey!

When was the last time you went 'all out' on an engine?

I'm considering doing my V8, and to get 100% performance gain, the parts chequebook needs to be at least 15k.

Good Luck all the same. We do want you to finish the project sooner than later.

im doing a ca1200 conversion and im also doing the internals before i drop the motor in ( pistons/ rods only ca have deasontly strong rods stock but... and the cams can be changed wilst in the engine bay) but i was looking for the lowest conpression i can find becuase the reallity is the only way to make power out of a 4 cyl is BOOST AND QUALITY FUEL. but i was goin for some were around 8.3-1 so wen the motor is done i should be able to run some were around 24 psi but thats just me thinking ahead

Hey Short-coupe,
The Spool guy lives in QLD (Regent park area) i went out there to pick my rods up and had a good chat to the guy, nice bloke.
I also had a metallugist at work have a look at the rods.

My cost breakdown (Only some parts) was:
ACL forged pistons $710
Spool rods $490
ACL race gasket set $385 (included multi-layer Head Gasket)
ACL race bearing (ConRod + Main) $137
Gates race Timing belt $86
ARP Headstud $208
