it will bolt up if it's from a CA20 bluey, not sure how big it is for fitting into a 1200 tunnel

people use the bellhousing from this box with a skyline gearbox to create a short box for easy fitment to a 1200

even if it did fit the gearbox would be stuffed if you drop the clutch too many times!

From what I've been told the CA20 'box is surprisingly strong, alot stronger then the CA20 engine needs.

Anyway, no 'box will stand up to continuously dropping the clutch. 'Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen' doesn't apply to gearboxes.

You also need to consider if the CA18 flywheel will fit inside the CA20 bellhousing.

The bellhousing flywheel/clutch thing is something else to consider, on top of 'will it bolt up'.

If the CA18det flywheel and clutch fits in the ca20 box, that's great. Otherwise you might need to use a CA18de flywheel and clutch (which is smaller). Maybe even a FWD flywheel and clutch, which is smaller again.

With all this chopping and changing, you might need a different starter motor.
I have a feeling that someone else on here is running a CA20 box in their CA18det Ute...
