Coming up 7 years.
Was going to say how I think it was a waste of money, but I learned and grew a lot in that period.. even if it meant losing 6 kgs in 2 weeks befoire the 2005 nats from work and stress.

Well, the Datsun Seven in my avatar took 11.5 months. I brought the bare frame and boxes of parts to the shop on October 2, 2004 and drove the car September 15, (or so) 2005. That time includes a change of engine plans necessitating a swap, and fabricating another set of motor & tranny mounts mid-build.
Now, as for my 1200s... All are still works in progress.

Well I'd say that a project car is NEVER finished....

My ute took 3 years to get from a rolling chassis (full of rust) to fully legal & registered w/ a CA18DET.
Did it all myself on weekends etc though.

But like my 1st statement says.... I'm always changing / improving / fiddling around with something.

7yrs last november,
if i could just find time to go and do some work on it..
there was a flurry of activity last year, when it came home for the A14 fitting, and the 60A dogleg box.. actualy drove it up the street, and onto the trailer, back to the paint shop...

just needs the tail lights finished, lick the paint on and then join the exhaust up and she's away... oh and find somebody oldskool to dyno the carby in...

I bought my coupe back in 04 and started chipping away at it, adn I mean litterally chipping away at it. I had no respect for Datsuns then so all the rear plastic trim and things were just ripped apart leaving me with no choice but to make it a race car. I didn't get sedan for a few more years so my idea of what I wanted vs needed was somewhat jumbled.

crzy_1200_ute, do you happen to be a friend of Dave Cowburn by any chance? Or friends of one of his relatives?
