no 56 on my 4 spd?

hey i picked up a 4 spd and i noticed it has no 56 on it, all my others did? any ideas? ive looked on the wiki and in the tech section, found some stuff but nothing about it..

A14s didn't use a 56-series transmission. Perhaps it is a 60-series.

I've got a 4 speed with no markings that size wise looks like a 56 series, as it came attached to an A14 I assume it was a 60 series.

Guess I'll find out when I do some burnouts

the 60's had no ribs on the outside of the case

yeah thats what i thought, the one with the 56 on it has more "ribs" on it in places..

That's a 56-series 4-speed. RHD for use with clutch cable.

so my other ones stamped 56a arent RHD or for clutch cable? lol

im pretty sure its the same, but just wondering if its got different ratios or something..

Looking at where the reverse idler sits (lump on LHS at front of tail housing where it meets sandwich), and what appears to be the small hole size for the clutch cable, I'd say it's an early 1200 box. (120Y and B310 cases differ in those areas)
