The cars were sold in many export markets as Datsuns, while it was known as the Sunny in Japan & some Asian markets.

The Japanese model [Sunny] sedan was given a cosmetic update in about mid 1972 with revised tail lights & this grille. The dash was changed a little too while the GL & GX models got a revised bonnet/hood, however export versions of the GL & GX do not seem to have many, or any, of these upgrades.
The coupe got the interior upgrades & the new bonnet but no other changes were made to the lights or body.

There seem to have been only three basic grilles for 1200's
The original one was used on everything except the coupe. A variation of this original grille was used on B120 Utes & it was missing most of the stainless trim & it was painted.
The coupe used only one grille, but it was painted differently for different models within the coupe range.

The third grille was the ones that you found. They were used on GL & GX sedans, but I do not believe that they were used on wagons [vans] but were probably seen on DeLuxe sedans & I have no idea what the Standard sedans used after mid '72.

The B120 Ute retained the original plain Jane grille untill about 1976 or '77 when it was changed for the coupe grille, but with a large vertical emblem in the middle that effectively disguised the grille's origins to some degree

They were marketed as "Datsun Sunny 1200" in Japan.

Those taillights are 1972 parts for the Japan/Asia market. They go with the new bonnet, badges and new grille. They are *not* Sunny Excellent (1400) parts.

For details, see 1972 minor Facelift.
