Sounds good, there a similar product called an Accusump which does the same thing with either a manually controled valve or solenoid controlled. I have often thought of making one too..

Performance issues aside, I was thinking of going with the electric water pump for packaging reasons. Without that mechanical water pump sticking out, there is more room behind the radiator for a longer engine. That was my thinking at least.

Yep, I have seen the Accusump and it is pretty basic. I think the concept could be improved fairly easily.

i may neen one of these pumps for the big block conversion in the falcon not enough room for decent radiator/fan/and pump
