Those of us who indicated an expression of interest have received an update e-mail recently.

WTF?! what kind of snob effort is that?
I dont think anyone would not be interested, it just that so far the performance potential is not worth it from what been stated on this thread, as there is a better modern design that he could have adopted which still could be opened up to become an old style hemi like chamber in the future if the rules cause issues in his racing class but I doubt it.
Heres the combustion chamber shape that would suit this project with hemi-like valve angles.

Sorry D, I'm a terrible tease, I meant no offense.

The project is proceding as expected, ... slowly. Slower than some had expected, but some problems with casting shrinkage have been overcome & some minor re-design work has now been completed & tested on a dummy head. The valve sizes are larger than I had thought suitable for my particular application & I forget exactly what the sizes were, but 44mm rings a bell. [presumably this would be the inlet]
Actually I'm surprised that nobody else has jumped in & brought you up to date.

Basically, work is proceding, slowly, & nobody has been asked to kick in any cash yet.

My interest in the head is from a nostalgia point of view as well as its rarity. Even if he sells 50 of them, that's not a lot in a world where vehicle numbers excede one billion.
In my case, it's unlikely there will be many streeter KB10 Sunny's with one of these out there.

The performance potential of this head will far & away excede anything that I might ever need, so for me at least, any serious revision of port & combustion chamber shapes are not necessary & I am happy to go with a close copy of the original, in fact, smaller ports & valves would be desirable for a street application, but it ain't going to happen.

I would not expect to see any change from 5 - 6K mark.

Nobody said that there were 50 units, in fact I suspect that there will be something much closer to about 20 or 25 at best.
What I wrote was that "EVEN if he sells 50 of them" etc.

Also, I suspect that there are some who think that these will be a bolt on & drive away kind of deal. It isn't.There will be quite a bit of work to be done once they are delivered like custom exhaust, custom fabricated induction & of course the ignition problems as the induction will be using some of the space that a distributor would otherwise occupy.

Drop him another e-mail as I believe that he travels around a bit & may not have been able to reply, but I'm sure he would appreciate another interested party & simply put, the more people that join in, the lower the unit cost.
