the main problem with using a carby (i used a 32/36) is after a while under boost the carby will go lean
i did although have the stock dizzy regraphed it cost be about 300, not using it anymore if anyone wants to make an offer on it aswell. having it regraphed is better than just locking it because you still do want some vacum advance it was setup for 10 degrees vacuum advance which stops it pinging at full boost
Hey Frank, I'll share a few pearls here....
I found with the blower that the 32/36 ran lean after a while at full throttle as well. the problem is that most of them only have a 1.5mm float valbve orifice filling the carby bowl, but you have a 130 & a 175 jet (or something like that) sucking it dry, so you just run out of fuel. I successfully redrilled it to 2.5mm- it still seals fine & provides plenty of juice.
The easiest way or re-graphing your dizzy for tubo/blown is to take it apart, put a small dollop of weld on the end of the slots for the weights. This reduces the total advance. then you gradually lighten the weights untill you get a slower progression to full advance.
you get good at taking dizzy's apart!!
