on my setup, i used the booster I had, but it's the biggest one a 210 had, and my brakes are very different from the stock ones so I can't say how it would work.

Down here it's usually pretty easy to find 280zx's to steal parts from, but they'll dry up eventually.

What about using the brakes from a Datsun 210 (1979-1980)? In Canada, they all have larger brakes than any B210 -- except for models with 12" wheels. Any 210 with A14 or A15 engine will have the bigger brakes. These are the same parts as american A10 Stanzas (1978-1982 Datsun 510). They need small modification in spring area for B110, but probably not for B210.

It may be difficult to find older models in eastern Canada. Eastern USA has less old cars. There are lots of vintage Datsun parts for sale out of BC.

I've never understood the fascination with "more HP needs more brakes". A stock Datsun 1200 can get up to 80mph rather quickly. Because it only has 69 HP, it doesn't need good brakes? Nissan didn't think that way. They designed the stock 1971 Datsun 1200 to stop faster than most muscle cars of the day.

my input here. I put a sway bar on the rear axle, and it handled like a dream! (my 1200)

never thought of that. will have to get looking online, and make a trip to ye ole junk yard

I'd just rather be safe than sorry, seeing how my "wet" weight will be jumping up around 400lbs or so, after the motor swap, diff swap, and the like. Don't want to skimp on the brakes, and have that be the down fall of the car!

the core question is:
on a canada model, is a 74 a b210? if so does it use the same ball joint as the later 310?

why - does he need the 310 radius rods and lower control arms and ball joints to do this conversion?

YES, even in Canada

Dunno much about Datsun 310s, those are front-wheel-drive cars.

But the 1974 B210 used suspension from the PB110. 76-78 north american models used bigger suspension (same as Datsun 610). 79-82 models (Datsun 210/B310) used the largest brakes, and suspension shared with the compact-sized "new" Datsun 510.

Significantly larger than 1974 B210 brakes.

Yes, the 1981 Datsun 310 is a front-wheel-drive model.

The car in your avatar is a Datsun 210 - a rear-wheel-drive model.

it's messy the thing is called a 210, has a 310 chassis code.

why can't they call those other things F10's or B11's
