hey i have searched and cant find nothing :( but i know atleast 2 people have done this convershion and if they have a pic of how they did the crossmembers that would help heaps :)

Try contacting Dattoman1000. I think that this is his long tern project to get a ca18de into a 1k. When i spoke to him about it, the list of mods to get it registered was fairly extensive, so you really wanna do our homework on this if you want a legal road registered car.

Well a 1000 and a 1200 share the same original engine yeh? Therefore the X member and mods should be relitivly simmiler shouldnt they? If not just lower the CA into the 1000 bay and see what needs to be done

it'll sit too high but if its a burnout car then a hump in the bonnet or a big hornet scoop will help.

I modded the sump & pick up to make the motor sit lower and further back. The bonnet should clear but its still a work in progress.

a pic of some one else hard work should give me idears but yea at the end of the day i have to make the mounts :) i pick up the motor tomorro arvo hmmmm its turbo time ooooo yea

My 2.2c

Cut the uprights off the crossmember

Put a piece of wood etc 10mm thick on the crossmember

Sit engine on top

Weld on new mounts.

remove wood

It's a burnout car, solid mount it.
