I think its more a case of if you can find one, you have to pay the price of what it is because they dont come up that often.

What do you mean by work? putting it in? if you have an a12 in your ute now then it will require a little more than just swapping over the parts from the a12 to the a15 as the manifold and extractors are different... if you plan on working the a15 and being rough on your drivetrain then you may need a stronger box and diff...

well i have a set of extractors for an a15 and if i can find one im going to put an electronic dizzy on it and a redline manifold for my twin carbs and try find a 5 speed for it and im putting a r31 diff in my ute so that should be good but i dont plan on flogging it i just want an easy power option but how much more power would an a15 get me over the a12 if i find one cheap il be getting it rebuilt with bigger piston cam etc..Appsy1

Dont put an r31 diff in your ute if you only have an a15. Its not worth the weight.

Also extractors should be the same, if they are close to the floor/firewall now they may foul with the a15 but thats all.

Just use the h165 diff, if your ute is a 1976 or newer (it think) you should have this diff.

Good luck trying to find a 5 speed, the 60a is strong enough for a mild a15 but will cost you an arm and leg, the next size up is the 63a and it is a very tight fit, may even take some tunnel work, and its also impossible to find. There was a 60a that went for about $1700 on ebay a few months back, havent seen one since.

As for a power figure? I couldnt tell you. But I have a very worked a15 in mine and it beats everything on the road that is N/A, and keeps up easy with all of the standard forced induction cars.

Sorry if I was incorrect about the extractors they are a little higher but should fit...

Have a read of the Wiki there is heaps of details on there and even details of people who have done it.

Ok its a slight exaduration, have driven with a few worked skylines and it seems to just keep up, and it is a touch slower than my cousins stock 06 WRX. biggest problem I have is keeping the ass from spinning.

Edit: I haven't times the car yet but I intend to.
