I dont think it was ever engineered though?

I don't know either. But if it was then it would've been worth it!

They wouldn't be PRO12T & TIG20T the green & tiga mica 1200's would they?

Wouldn't that mean that the cars were engineered in the ACT but regoed in NSW?

I tried everything to see if I could go 2.0L. But they wouldn't have any of it. They won't even let you bring in an already engineered car from another state and get it re-engineered in ACT.

TALK TO SCOTT AT MADDAT. I CALLED HIM LAST NIGHT AND ASKED ABOUT THE SR20DET IN 1200'S AND HE SAID THERE IS A WAY TO DO IT IN EVERY STATE.....DON'T REMEMBER HIS EXACT WORDS BUT HE GETS THEM TESTED BY ENGINEERS AND THERE IS A LOOP HOLE TO GET PASTED THE ADR COMPLIANCE ISSUE

APPARENTLY A TURBO V6 IS POSSIBLE...NOT SURE IT WOULD FIT THO

to be classed as an ICV, im pretty sure your engine will have to comply with euro emission standards?

Yeah, the current ADR's will have provisions for emissions, so they do have to be met. A lot of engineers will tell you a motor wouldn't pass this, but I reckon they just don't want this kind of work.

Does anyone actually know the emissions standards. IMO if there was a huge difference they would be more stringent on engine swaps than they already are. If a CA was shonky compared to today's standards they'd frown upon engineering one in a 1200.

yeh ive heard of that loop hole you have the car registered in buisness then say it needs more power due to heavy towing loads and so you can go larger apparently there was also someone who got a 13b turbo registered in a ute via that loop hole?? not to sure but thats what i was told

there is a massive difference between an engineswap and having a vehicle classed and registered as an ICV

from the qld icv rules

ICVs built with production vehicle body shells-

A monocoque body shell from a production passenger car (MA category)
will not be considered as the basis for an ICV unless:

the 1200 ute MYDRUG has an sr20det engineered in it in nsw and that wasn't done that long ago. So there is ways around it, HOWEVER as previously mentioned in this thread, the RTA reserve the right to revoke any engineers certificate if they feel it's appropriate.

Alot of engineers do get investigated if they start passing dodgy ####, have had mates with issue before.

I've heard the way pac cars do their stuff is put a 13b in, grind of the 13b tags on the side of the housings and mold the 10a ones on, restamp an engine number and off you go.

Physically unless you've seen a 10a and 13b beside each other I doubt you'd know.
