Grab a pair of kb110 (1200 coupe) struts with brakes on still. AND the brake line from the caliper to strut still intact. Pull out your drum struts from the ute and leave the flexi brake hose coming out from the wheel whel hanging. Put in disk struts, attach flexi hose, bleed, test drive after checking for leaks.

Cant use disk brakes from a 1200 on drum brake struts from a 1200.

Hope it helps and im pretty sure it is in the wiki. search that shiz

how do you mean the "top" of the 1200 strut?
You can swap the hole strut and brake assembly from the 120y into the 1200. Same as 1200 coupe struts. If you mean top as in the round thing with the hole in the middle for the shock to come through that bolts to the strut tower, then use the 1200 one not the 120y one.

As you're in Australia... go with the late 120Y PBR brake setup if you can. I used the struts and brakes from the 120Y, with the springs and strut-tops from the 1200. All bolts straight in, and will give you a good upgrade from the drums. The PBR calipers are larger than the japanese 120y ones.

I also use a 120Y brake booster and Stanza 13/16 PBR master cylinder. I found the Stanza booster easier to get hold of (Sigmas run the same one also). The 120Y booster takes some firewall mods to fit (bigger centre hole, and 4 bolts instead of 2 to bolt up).

Plenty of info on this on the wiki.

Good Luck.
