if anyone is interested a pair of hitachis with factory airbox + manifold just went for $570 on ebay
carbys

a gx bonnet also went for $600, thats not including a latch chrome strip of windscreen washer nipple.

I have had a few pairs of these over the years, the last set I sold for $250, which is what I bid on that pair on Ebay thinking that was what they are worth, apparently not.

$570 is what we used to pay for 5 speeds a couple of years ago.

I dont know if I understand, there cant be more 1200s out there, probably less if anything, so why do the hot up parts get so much more expensive?

You would think with less and less cars wanting them they should get cheaper?

same people are buying these parts...they just have more money these days, because they aren't students or apprentices anymore ..

Supply is diminishing & demand is increasing. Result? Money talks.

There are more & more of us who are realising that they can make their cars more distinctive with the use of GX items & more who are realising that the clever Datsun engineers really got it right with the GX engine.

A well tuned GX engine is in fact an absolute joy to drive, it starts easy, runs very well, returns good mileage & even better, returns a better financial payoff when it comes time to sell.
For street use, particularly regular street use, only the single downdraught Weber comes close in operational terms.
