Been looking at the Renault engines... there's a turbo diesel version of the brand new Nissan MR20 engine (Renault M4R) - dubbed 'M9R' perhaps I'm about 10 years too early with my idea. It might be easier to wait for the rumored S16 200sx (2010) - the MR is supposedly one of the candidates for that engine - thus gearboxes might be plentiful for this stuff in the future

I knew the direct injection diesel engines use very high fuel pressures. Interesting point about the fuel lines - I guess custom would be the go.
