#1 A12 to the MAX! What would you do?
Ronny_CTS Posted on: 2008/5/2 21:47
Hey guys...imagine one thing...you get hold of a A12 engine...because A14 and A15 are impossible to get over here...

what would you do to it? I'm talking the WORKS!

I'm imagining custom EFI runing on custom ECU and a EDIS ingnition system...headers...worked head...worked seats and valves...cilinders bored out to 1300...what else would you do? what type of power would we be talking about?

just food for the mind...peace...

With an UNLIMITED BUDGET I would,
Ultrasound a few blocks to find one with the thickest bore walls
Using a torque plate, bore it to the maximum overbore
Hot hone.
Deck the bock, oring the bores
Have steel cross bolted main caps made, and a crank girdle.
Get some lightweight followers made, and have a serious cam maker design a profile with the most aggressive opening ramp that the lifters can stand. And the max lift.
Polish and paint the inside of the block. Have the block cryogniclly annealed. Use a windage tray, and crank scraper.
Knife edge the crank, open up the oil galleires, off set grind the crank pins, shot peen it, and nitride the journels. Have it ballanced , along with doweled for the flywheel. As well as having it cryogeniclly anealed.
buy or have made a gear drive cam gear set up.
Find a GX head. Have the chambers cc'd. Have the ports ported out as far as possible. Fit the biggest valve seats the head can take. use stainless valves, and bronze guides. Triple valve springs. Ceramic coated chambers and valves. Find roller rockers with the highest ratio available (At least 1.65:1) Titainium push rods. Use studs for the rocker pedistalls, head bolts, and rod bolts. Have some custom H beam rods made. Custom harmonic balancer. Drysump. Custom forged pistons. (Milled to suit the valve lift etc) Ceramic coated. Custom turbo manifold, with equal length runners, which are as short as possible. T88 turbo. Tuned lenth intake runners, with a custon carbon fibre plenuim. Two set of injectors. 375cc right above the intake port, and 1200cc injectors situated way back down the runner for high air flow use. 3 inch throttle body. Cam angle sensor mounted on the dizzy, and after markert ECU. (I'm not really up on which is best) Water to air intercooler, with cryo spray on the front water cooler. Four nitrous nozzles, placed way up the runners for a really hard hit. (Also using the nitrous to speed up the spool of the oversized turbo I mentioned.) Oil cooler.

Did I miss anything?
OR, you could just go and buy a really nice house for the same money.

You can buy that right from Pitroad. 150 HP.

you forgot the ay12 head running all the goodies.
A turbo a12 (now a13) would certainly be the best way to scare you and your wallet.

All running in a kb10 haha

I think you could make 250+break HP (Pun intended) If you had that kind of money, I'm sure you could afford to source an A15 too.

not sure if a T88 would be much good on an A12.

a GT28/35 would be about as big as i would ever go. also a big cam isn't really a good idea with turbos, 272deg is about as wild as most people go.
