here's a question, and it might already be on another thread, i have a chance to buy a 84 or 85 bluebird trx , i have a 78 120y 4 door sedan manual, i want to use it as a daily driver mostly, is the l20b an easy conversion or will it need alterations to the firewall and tunnel, do i really need to transfer the skyline struts it has or is that not absolutely necessary? is the borg warner diff strong enough to handle this conversion or do i really need to alter the rear diff and axle?, i just want the bigger motor... can it be done? and if it has been done by someone, how much did it cost, the car is a few hundred bucks with all good parts, .........

For starters is the 120Y manual or auto? There are a few ways of going about it. If you hunt through the tech section you will find the info that you need. Some have done it by fitting a 180B front crossmember and some have used a modified stanza crossmember.

Personally I did not like either of the conversions as it would introduce bump steer. I used the mounting sections of a stanza crossmember onto my origional 120Y crossmember. Mine is a very neat fit. Have a look through my photo's and see for yourself.

What area are you from? There may be someone in your area that has done it all ready and may be able to assist you further. There is alot more to it than just bolting the engine in. But it can be done very cheaply.
