you will have to find someone who is handy with the old welder and knows a thing or two about proper pipe sizing for your engine. I would recomend 1.33 inch pipe to the collector and from the turbo run the biggest pipe that will fit under the car. I have trurboed a couple of L-series angines and the stock bottom end held up great just keep in mind that the stock cast pistons are good for exactly one good ping and than they are dust.

Hi getthatdatsundifference, how far is Perth, WA from Seattle, WA? Just kidding.

Take a look at the Tech Section article Supercharging an Turbosupercharging. It has links to various discussions.

I live in WA, and am turboing an A15, I've made my own intake and exhaust manifolds.
If your still needing help in, say, 2 months. I might be able to help you out. I say 2 months, cause I'll hopefully have it together in about a months time, then a month to see if my exhaust manifold is any good.
Where abouts in WA do u live?

If i were to turbo an A14 first thing i would do would be to buy an efi kit for it.

You'd then have to make up an intake plenum and intake runners.......the plenum has to be a specific volume relative to the capacity of the engine, i forget what it is but someone will be able to tell you.

On the exhaust side you may be able to modifiy the original manifold so a turbo can bolt onto it. If you were trying to do this cheap get a turbo from a jap import place. not sure what car you'd get it off Maybe a starlet GT possibly a CA18, don't want too bigger turbo.

If your A14 is pretty stock it won't be able to take much boost. You may also need to lower your compression a bit. You can get copper head gaskets made. I've seen other people use two standard gaskets to get similar results.

well thats just to give you an idea. Theres prob heeps of other stuff like turbo pluming and tuning etc.

On the subject of Turbo to either A14 or A15, i have heard that it is not really a set up that works well. I have often thought in the past that it was worth trying but kept getting talked out of it from a few lads that have so called been there done that. If anyone has some proof that to turbo an A14 or A15 workes, i would luv to hear form ya........

Cheers
Peddler
