I realised i needed a daily driver since the wagon has become the ummm, project haha.
So i bought myself a ute and a parts ute. very cheap, no rust at all, rust proofed from factory. 95000 genuine kms and the parts car has 87000 or sumthing genuine kms. The daily had been sitting in a dry shed for 8 years so i had to put it through compliance and it flyed through without any mentions. In some pics there is still the heavy layer of dust sitting on the outside haha. As you can see the parts ute has been clobbered by a small truck after pulling out of an intersection some 13 years ago, nice work.

Bought the parts ute to cut out the rear quarter for the wagon and has served very well as parts donor for everyone i know and the wagon too.

OUCH!
anyway, these two trucks, along with about 18 others where bought from nissan in circa '82 and everything pulled out of them and amazing amounts of tecktill (rust proofing) sprayed over every surface and in ever consievable orfice. Which is a good thing since there is now no rust
They were also fitted out with checker plate alloy tray lining which means nooooo dents in the tray. And a big arse diesel tank and pump fitted to the tray, along with another leaf added to a reset (higher) leaf pack and stiffer springs in the front. Which all takes into account the 4x4 stance on this beast.

Plans are to fit 5 speed and a lower diff ratio for good fuel economy and drivability on the motorway. Also since they came with drums all round from factory i will put some kb110 struts and brakes in there to help pull her up nicely.

I have a pair of coilover sleeves, springs and top hats coming from ground control in the states:

Some nice and stiff 250lb springs should go nicely with the shorter s1 rx7 shocks in the shortened kb110 strut for some awsome lowness. Not to keen on insane rake so will have the leafs reset almost flat to level up the rear and since they are already super stiff i wont have to touch them again. Still looking for some shorter shocks for the rear of the ute and wagon.

A new muffler is as far as i will go with the engine as shes the daily.

But a tough japanese inspired gb120 is whats planed and to help with that i bout a pair of these:

13x7.5 with a -14 offset, yeaaaa should go well with some 175/50's on the rear haha

so yea thats as far as i have gotten besides the s13 brakes onto the kb110 struts for my wagon.

Will add more to this post as i go along i think.

Looks like a big hit! Are they both long wheel base?

Loven the 13 x 7.5

Whats the go with the numbers on the rear pillar?

Is that the thick rust proofing all through the engine bay?

Good luck with it.

Yep both 1982 gb120's, g meaning long wheel base, extended out from behind the rear axle.
They all had signwriting over them from the company that bout the 20 of them from nissan back in the bay and the numbers are a way of identifying them. All same mustard, all same steelies etc.

Yep that black #### EVERYWHERE is the rust proofing.

those steelies will "poke" another 13mm over the superlites

Hey Chris,
I'm 99% sure that you can fit the longer B310 bottom ball joint to the ute bottom arms/steering arms, on account of them using the 10mm fixing bolts. (as opposed to the cars 8mm) And as far as I know the ute steering arms use the bigger steering arm ball joint taper too. Long story short, free camber.
Also don't have you leaves flattened out. Once a leaf is straight, it stops working like a spring. If (when) you load up the rear of your ute it will handle poorly. Just use blocks, or have the eyes reversed.

Great score though mate!

ooo easy camber.. stoked. Didnt think of that.
I had blocks in the rear of the wagon and it axle tramped like a mad slut. I want to get them reset even if i get them reset but still have a bit of a curve in them and then use blocks to tune them.
They already have an extra leaf in the pack so are stiff as, not really looking for lots of travel so hopefully i can get it sitting at the right height I hear what you are saying though.

In the parts book at BNT the longer ball joints are listed as being for an HB310. (Thats if theres a BNT handy to you that is)
