HI, Have a 73 B110 coupe we used as a daily car all through late 80's and 90's. Would like to get her out of the barn and renovate to look like the orange 71 I had back in the day. Anyone know where to find the slotted mags or facsimile that came as option on US Datsun 1200's in early 70's? Also, Moss has a blower kit for the MG midget. I was told by someone the 1200 engine was a close copy of the midget's. Anyone know if the MG blower kit works on the 1200's engine. (figured if I'm rebuilding her, might as well giver her some pop). All info is appreciated.

The only similarity between the Datsun A series & the BMC A series is the name & the general inline four cylinder layout. The early 50's Austin [BMC] B series engine was made under licence by Datsun as their E series engine & used in Datsun cars & trucks in the 60's, & even then, Datsun engineers fixed the oil leaks, & the reliability problems, then made it run good, three things the Brits could never do at the time. The blower from the Moss kit can be made to work on the 1200 engine, but will of course need a custom fabricated instalation.

Ha Ha Ha! Ok, will tell the someone, been a while but think it was my brother, he is an idiot. Should be fun actually. Thanks for the correct info.
And Yes, the 1200 is a fun little car. "Sporty & economical" was a very apt description as well as advert. Never did anything more serious than tuning and carb rejetting back when a kid, but was a kick when set up well. Oh, and don't speak too ill of the brits. Traded my original 1200 on a first year TR7 and never looked back. My only regret was the TR7 didn't have the other half of it's engine. (Should have been a V8 from the start.)

That's what they looked like all right. Will have to check around. Probably shouldn't keep it 12" anyway as there aren't many choices there. (Have a lot of Geo Metros in the family and tires are becoming an issue).
