Just wondering how much boost is everyone running through there ca18det's. Also what would be the safe level (of boost) to run through a stock engine without damage.

Cheers

When i drove my CA powered coupe as a daily driver i ran it at 8PSI but when i did hillclimbs and sprint events i wound it up to 14 PSI and it was dead stock and handled 14PSI no wories. I started race events at 8psi but woud it up to get more power, 175HP at 14 psi on the dyno at motsons in Brissy.

no..the standard T25 turbo will not maintain more than 14psi anyway. It will spike to 18 psi maybe, but will throw out your fuel mixtures and burn a hole in the top of your pistons on a hot day with poor fuel.

A full stocker should be run at 12-14 max if you run premium unleaded. And 8 or less if you put normal 86 octane normal unleaded.

To be honest..you should always have the budget to have a second engine ready. So many young fellas turn up the boost, blow the turbo or engine, and then end up driving their mum's barina (corsa) around for the next 2 years until they can afford to fix the car..

it put out 175.2kw at the wheels on 12 pound, which is alot below the turbo's efficiency range

How come you sold the ute Gillie? last time I spoke to you at work you were chasing a fuel pump for it and couldn't wait to get it on the road?
That was a while ago though
